Atlas's spell selection is abysmal, and Celica has access to a wealth of mages that are much better. The usefulness of Cavalier is not particularly high due to the large amount of harsh terrain encountered in Celica's journey and Atlas being too slow and fragile. He is the only unit that joins Celica's party by default that can become a Cavalier, without the Dread Fighter promotion loop, anyway. With promotion bonuses he can make a somewhat competent mercenary, though the player is likely to be using at least one of the four other better mercenaries available to Celica. His other base stats are abysmal, and his low speed growth means he gets doubled often and will be attacking less, blunting the usefulness of his decent base strength. Of his base stats only his HP and strength are acceptable for his join time. Atlas does not fill any particular niches that are not already taken by units already in Celica's party.Īt the very least, he does not need to be trained as a villager at all, as he comes above the required promotion level, and can be promoted to a more useful class right away.
